NSW Unlocks Land for 1,100 New Homes
The Minns Labor Government has announced that 10 government-owned properties will be repurposed for nearly 1,100 new homes as part of a land audit aimed at addressing the housing shortage in NSW.
Turning Surplus Land into Homes
As part of a state-wide audit, surplus government land across metropolitan and regional areas is being released for housing, addressing the growing demand for affordable homes.
30,000 New Homes in the Pipeline
This initiative supports the NSW Government’s goal to deliver up to 30,000 homes, backed by a $5.1 billion investment in public housing. These new homes will be strategically located near transport and essential infrastructure.
Key Locations for Development
Sites in Woolloomooloo, Sydney Olympic Park, and Hurstville will deliver nearly 600 homes, with over half earmarked for social housing. Additional sites in Marsfield, Seaforth, Minto, Newcastle, and Arncliffe will also be developed in partnership with the private sector.
A Step Towards Solving the Housing Crisis
This audit unlocks land for much-needed housing, bringing NSW closer to a more sustainable and affordable housing future.
